Warm weather's coming back, so I decided I'm going to put my CB back in the truck. I took it out over the winter to reduce power draw and to keep everything from freezing up and causing damage. Right now it's just a rough setup, but I'm going to work on it and make it more permanent eventually.
The Specs: Cobra 29 LTD, with burnt out NiteWatch function, paired to a 49" Workman whip antenna, on a magnet mount on the roof.
I think this year I want to switch to either dual Firestik antennas on the bed rails, or a single one back by the taillight. It will probably be easier to make a good setup by the taillight. I'm worried about grounding on the bed rails, because my fenders are fiberglass.
And because I don't show her off enough.
Stay tuned for (hopefully) the next installment: Dinger buys Cragars!

Mine's too stock to be a bro truck haha. And too dirty.

It was a LOT worse. This summer it got a brand new bed, new rocker panels, and 4 new doors. My dad/PA winters were very hard on Blue. I want to put fiberglass fenders up front. Sure the little bit of flare would look weird, but they wouldn't rust out.

Ouch! That probably cost a pretty penny. Some American Racing Outlaw II, would suit it well.

I still haven't bought/installed a CB in the truck because I'm shit with electronics. How was the install for you? How much experience do you have?

Wasn't cheap, no. My dad and I pretty much split the bill for the most part. I have my heart set on either Cragar Soft 8's or D Windows.

Basically, my install is running the ant. wire through the rear window, finding places to tuck it for now, under the floor mat to the radio. Right now I don't have time/can't tear up my interior, so that will do. For power right now it's just a plug into the 12V socket. Soon it will be hardwired so it will turn off with key off. It's not on a bracket or anything either. It just sits there.

Nice, The Soft 8's look nice. Buy them!

Soon haha. The temptation has been killing me for a long time now. I barely make any money, so it took a long time to get the cash scraped together.

I'd replace the radio antenna to make it look like a life-sized RC truck.
Just me though. Needs a little triangle flag too. And a really wacky wrap/paint scheme. 70's style.

I wish. I bought a dakota laramie for the same price a base model 4 cylinder ranger was selling for a couple of years ago.

I've been there. Check out the Ar767, they are on sale on Amazon for $76 on Ebay, only two in stock though.

I want to be OK with just plugging it into the 12V but I'm slightly OCD and it would bother me, haha.

Mine bothers me because it looks like crap. Eventually it will be wired in under the dash. That's when my hate of wiring will come into play haha

Yeah, Rangers hold their value for some reason. Which is weird because it's not like they ever changed. The 82-92 was the same exact thing. Same goes for the 93-11. Only minor changes like grilles. Other than appearance they're pretty much the same exact truck.

Haha the bad thing is there is RC cars that I could buy at WalMart that are faster than Blue.
